What's new: November 2024
As the year winds down, we’re reflecting on how far we’ve come — thanks to your support and feedback. November brings exciting updates, including new roles and permissions, documentation revamp, and more! Let’s check them out!
Kubernetes migration ⚙️
A few weeks ago, we have moved our cloud services to Kubernetes. This change allows our infrastructure to automatically scale to meet demand, providing faster performance during peak times and optimizing resources. Additionally, it brings more reliability, improved security, and streamlines the release process.
Component Usages 📍
We have added a new section in the components’ settings displaying the current use of the specific component - whether it’s in other components or actions. Usages are grouped by target, with the following path format: name → property. If you click on a specific property or path in the Usages, you will be taken to the corresponding component or action, and make any adjustments if needed.
SQL Views Support 👀
Our SQL servers now support working with View and Partitioned View. A new Configuration parameter in resources lets you store both Table and View data. We’ve also rewritten SQL queries to handle both Views and Tables, including Partitioned Views.
New permissions: Create App and Create Data source 🔑
For more access control, we have introduced new permissions to give you more flexibility over who can create applications and data sources. Here's what's new:
- Create App permission - A role with this permission can create applications. The apps created will be added with the same permissions as the role that created them.
- Create Datasource permission - A role with this permission can create data sources. The data sources created will be added with Use and Manage permissions, same as the role that created them; and users with this role will be able to view the created data sources.
Rest assured, only Admins, Editors, or those with Manage Datasource permissions can delete apps or data sources. This safeguards your critical data and apps while enabling your teams to operate more autonomously. Check out more in the docs.
Redirect After Login/Sign-Up feature ↘️
With the new Redirect After Login/Sign-Up feature, you can now guide your users exactly where you want them to go. Whether it’s a landing page, a specific app, or a share mode, you can specify the exact URL for each user role, ensuring a smooth and personalized entry. Redirects also work with both MFA and SSO enabled. Read more here.
Documentation redesign 📚
Our documentation got a major revamp! Restructured navigation, updated content, fresh visuals - everything to ensure a smooth learning experience. While it’s a work in progress, we are delighted with the result! We’d be happy to hear your feedback about the update. Share your thoughts here and let us know what is still missing.
A sneak peek at what's next in UI Bakery (hint: it's not bread, it's features) 🔮
At the moment, we are working on redesigning our builder, updating variables autocomplete, and more. Stay tuned! 🔥
Don’t forget that we have a public roadmap where you can keep an eye on the upcoming changes and leave your feature requests. You can also discuss the new features in our community.
