What is URL encoding used for?
URL encoding is also named percent-encoding. It helps browsers or servers interpret special data or certain invalid characters in an appropriate URL format. To use the tool, simply input a text string and click the button.
How does URL encoding work?
URL encoding works as follows: non-ASCII characters are replaced with % followed by hexadecimal digits. Since there must be no spaces in URLs, all the spaces are replaced with + or %20.
